Hello! My name is Maxwell from Birthquake Records, and I’m booking a tour for one of the artists on our label, Squinch Owl. Squinch Owl is the musical project of Sofia Albam. She plays folk music with punk, blues and appalachian undertones. She plays banjo, accordion and sings astonishingly well. I’m playing with her, and play a unique homemade two-string stand-up washtub bass, saw, and banjo. We play 100% acoustic, so we can play anywhere! We’re going on a tour with no planned destination or end date, in an attempt to see if we can survive without a permanent home or occupation, on our music alone. We’re looking for a date in your area on Saturday, 10/16 (give or take a day or so). If you're uninterested or unable to help, would you happen to know any other spaces/bookers/bands in the area (or anywhere else in the country) that could help? We love to play in DIY show spaces, punk houses, community centers, infoshops, art galleries, backyards, basements, rooftops, around bonfires, coffee shops, record stores, and the like. Here’s some links to some older recordings (she’ll have a quality-recorded release out by tour, but in the meantime all we have are demos): squinchowl.bandcamp.comwww.myspace.com/salbamAnd here’s a couple of videos of her playing solo: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iMAsoHx89Uwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ZN7b99RfUz4Thank you so much for your help! -Maxwell & Sofia
