tonights show is cancelled.
and so are all shows by defualt in the fort....unless we figure something out.
a couple people have gone to the basement and found a sign that the room is to be locked and the only way to get in so retrieve a key somewhere.
this really sucks. but theres not much we can do about it right now.
hopefully we can find a way in or with any luck it will be open next year without a problem.
next point of order, we need to find the person who was sleeping there and do some old school street justice...

I HATE THIS!!!! we had a sweet deal going with the fort and now it's busted because of a hobo!?! we should give him a stern talking to with our fists. but anyway, for future shows the options are slim. we can do the park if we have a good deal of time in advance and for acoustic shows but are there any other real options?

i think ideas of trying to still use that space are silly- its over and it was awesome but now we need to find somewhere else for the future. theres going to be more security in that building now, so personally i dont really want anything to do with stuff involved in breaking into that room. summers here, lets go outside.

though i agree that some of the ideas to get the fort back are silly...i dont think we should give up with it or finding another guerillla space on campus for next year. the fact that we had a place on campus with the amount of shows we all did for this long is one of the reasons i would say new paltz didnt suck from the winter until now.
in my opinion theres a 50/50 chance that they wont put in all that fancy lock stuff because of the nature of the adminstration doing things in general...though thats also what people thought about the solar house. well just have to see.
we'll all just have to keep an eye on things next new fort wise and security...and we have to keep an eye on hobos...damn hobos
so lets just stay posi and keep our minds straight for next year

hobo didn't have anything to do with shutting the damn door. the business about the key was a prank, the door is broken. we are waiting for custodial staff to break in, and replace the door knob and lock. I doubt it will ever be locked, but know that in the near future the school has plans to turn that room into a photography studio... if this comes to pass, the room will be rendered useless for shows. has anyone considered appealing to SAA or even patti phillips in the art office about actually getting some funding and a legal location to have shows? you can have fun without giving in to the man or risking running into trouble

patti is a raging douche, I tried months ago to see if she'd let me have band practice there and she was less then helpful on all levels
